The Jammu and Kashmir government announced the formation of a high-level committee on Thursday, aimed at developing a Single Window System to streamline the processing of Recruitment Rules.

The government issued an order through the General Administration Department (GAD-JK), assigning leadership of the committee to the Principal Secretary of the Public Works (R&B) Department. This committee includes key members such as the Commissioner/Secretary of the Government, General Administration Department, Commissioner/Secretary of the ARI & Trainings Department as Member Secretary, and Secretaries from various departments, including School Education and Information Technology.

Representatives from the J&K Public Service Commission and J&K Services Selection Board, with a rank of Additional Secretary or above, will also participate. The Chairman retains discretion to co-opt additional members as necessary.

This committee’s primary mission involves finalizing the digitization of Recruitment Rules while implementing the ‘Delhi Model’ for acceleration. Furthermore, it aims to utilize BISAG-N as a digital partner in this initiative.

Officials emphasized that the new system’s purpose is to improve coordination, monitoring, and ongoing review processes, addressing delays that hinder recruitment. The ARI & Trainings Department will provide dedicated support to the committee as it undertakes this crucial task.

With public sector jobs becoming increasingly competitive, the establishment of a streamlined recruitment process is timely. It aims to enhance efficiency and transparency, ensuring that eligible candidates can apply for positions without unnecessary delays.

The J&K government’s proactive step reflects a commitment to modernize administrative processes and better serve the job-seeking public. By leveraging digital tools, the Single Window System aspires to facilitate quicker decisions and promote a merit-based hiring environment.
