A Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist, Parminder Singh alias Pindi, faces multiple charges as he was extradited from the UAE, confirmed Punjab Police on Saturday. This significant move strengthens the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.

Pindi, a known associate of internationally-based terrorists Harwinder Singh alias Rinda and Happy Passia, arrived from Abu Dhabi following a comprehensive collaboration between Indian central agencies and UAE authorities. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav announced the details, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in tackling terrorism.

In his statement, Yadav revealed that Parminder Pindi has been linked to several violent incidents, including petrol bomb attacks and extortions, primarily targeting Batala in Gurdaspur district. These crimes have posed continuous threats to public safety, making his extradition a key victory for law enforcement.

Following a red corner notice (RCN) issued by Batala police, a specialized four-member police team, led by a senior officer, departed for the UAE on September 24. Their main objective was to ensure Pindi’s return to India to stand trial for his alleged crimes.

The police team coordinated with the Ministry of External Affairs and the UAE authorities to facilitate the legal processes necessary for the extradition. Yadav commended the efforts of all involved agencies, stating that overcoming bureaucratic hurdles required dedication and thoroughness.

After completing all legal formalities required for Pindi’s return, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police said the team successfully navigated through bureaucratic challenges to bring the accused back. The police now prepare to present their case against him in court, which marks a significant step in the fight against terrorism.

This extradition of Parminder Singh not only reflects the commitment of Indian authorities to pursue justice but also highlights the crucial role of international cooperation in combating cross-border terrorism. As India continues to address these challenges, officials promise to remain steadfast in efforts to ensure public safety and hold criminals accountable.
