Bihar Assembly Election results with NDA leading

PATNA, Nov 14: The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leads in early trends of the Bihar Assembly election counting, dominating in 166 out of 243 seats as per the latest data from the Election Commission.

The NDA’s strong position places it significantly above the majority mark of 122 seats, further solidifying its control over Bihar’s political landscape. The opposition alliance, known as the INDIA bloc, currently trails far behind with leads in 59 seats.

As the counting progresses, officials indicate that these figures may change, with several rounds of counting still pending. However, the initial results suggest a favorable outcome for the NDA, comprising various parties including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)].

Among the NDA’s performance, the BJP leads in 72 seats, followed closely by JD(U) with 71. Other parties within the NDA, such as Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) [LJP (RV)] and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) [HAM(S)], are also making their presence felt, securing 18 and four seats respectively. The Rashtriya Loktantrik Morcha (RLM) leads in one seat.

In contrast, the INDIA bloc has its key players struggling to maintain momentum. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) appears ahead in 43 seats, but not enough to challenge the NDA’s stronghold. The Congress party follows with leads in eight seats, while the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) [CPI(ML) Liberation] shows presence in six constituencies. The CPI and CPI(M) are leading in one seat each.

The Jan Suraaj Party, led by Prashant Kishor, along with Mukesh Sahani’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), have yet to secure any leads in the constituencies where they contested.

Among notable candidates, RJD’s Khesari Lal Yadav trails in the Chhapra constituency, while BJP’s prominent face, Maithili Thakur, takes the lead in Alinagar. Osama Shahab from RJD leads in Ragunathpur, and JD(U) minister Leshi Singh shows promise in Dhamdaha.

Leading the INDIA bloc’s charge, Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav holds a lead in Raghopur, a significant area for the opposition’s electoral strategy. Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha also continue to lead in their respective constituencies, Tarapur and Lakhisarai.

However, not all news is bright for the INDIA bloc; in Mahua, Tej Pratap Yadav finds himself in a surprising fourth place, with LJP(RV)’s Sanjay Kumar Singh currently leading the table.

The ongoing counting of votes in Bihar Assembly elections showcases the dynamic nature of Indian politics, particularly in a state pivotal to national discourse. The results may further reshape alliances and strategies as the last rounds of counting unfold.
