Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday described the formation of the first-ever BJP government in West Bengal as the beginning of a “new era of peace and prosperity” under a “double-engine” administration.

Ahead of the arrival of Narendra Modi in Kolkata for the swearing-in ceremony at the Brigade Parade Ground, Adhikari welcomed the Prime Minister through a post on social media platform X and termed the occasion a “historic dawn” for the state.

He stated that the establishment of the BJP government in West Bengal fulfilled the dreams of the country’s founding fathers and marked the beginning of the vision of “Sonar Bangla” becoming a reality.

The oath-taking ceremony, attended by senior BJP leaders and supporters from across the state, is being seen as a major political milestone, with the BJP assuming power in West Bengal for the first time since Independence.

Adhikari expressed confidence that the new government would usher in development, stability, and better coordination between the Centre and the state through the “double-engine” governance model.

The event has drawn significant public and political attention, reflecting a major shift in the political landscape of West Bengal.
