
KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 20: Minister of Health and Medical Education Sakeena Itoo inaugurated a newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Devsar in Kulgam today. The event showcased the government’s commitment to enhancing health infrastructure in rural and remote areas.
Alongside Itoo, the event saw the presence of MLA Devsar, Peerzada Feroz Ahmad, senior officers from the district administration and health department, and a substantial number of local residents.
During her address, Minister Itoo highlighted that the newly inaugurated PHC will vastly improve access to quality healthcare services for the local population. She reaffirmed the government’s focus on health infrastructure, assuring that every individual deserves basic medical facilities.
“The establishment of this PHC is a significant step towards improving healthcare delivery in our rural areas,” Itoo stated, emphasizing the necessary efforts to ensure that no one is left without access to healthcare.
The Minister also underscored various initiatives launched by the government that aim to uplift healthcare standards across Jammu and Kashmir. She called upon health staff to serve with dedication and compassion, underlining their pivotal role in advancing the health sector.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and a pro-people approach,” Itoo added, pointing to the broader goals of holistic development throughout Jammu and Kashmir.
MLA Peerzada Feroz Ahmad Shah also commended the inauguration of the PHC, declaring it a major advancement for healthcare services in the area. He reiterated his commitment to the overall development of the region and appealed to the Minister for the improvement of local hospitals and schools.
The event concluded with the Minister engaging with locals to learn about their issues and development needs. “I assure you that your legitimate demands will be addressed promptly,” Sakeena Itoo promised to the concerned residents.
