On 30 September, Sat Sharma, President of the J&K BJP, sharply criticized Congress, National Conference (NC), and PDP for their opportunist politics that he claims have stifled the region’s development and betrayed the people. This statement came during the inauguration of the Namo Exhibition at Gulshan Chowk in Bandipora, organized as part of the Seva Parv celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.

With prominent party leaders, including J&K BJP General Secretary Anwar Khan and District President Mudassir Farooq Jan, in attendance, Sharma launched an extensive critique of the INDI alliance parties. He asserted that dynastic politics marked by nepotism and corruption dominated their governance, leaving Jammu & Kashmir trapped in a cycle of despair. “These parties, which have ruled for decades, focused only on their self-interest while the youth suffered,” Sharma stated, underscoring a sentiment that resonates with many disillusioned voters.

Sharma contrasted this with the achievements of the Modi administration, which he claims has transformed both India and Jammu & Kashmir through unprecedented development. He noted that since 2014, the Modi government has shifted the paradigm, introducing transparency and accountability into governance. “Modi Ji has broken the chains of corruption, leading to significant improvements in infrastructure, social justice, and national security,” he emphasized.

According to Sharma, this stark difference between the empty promises of the INDI alliance and the tangible benefits delivered by Modi is clear to every citizen. “The people of J&K and India see the results of our hard work, and they will not be misled by the rhetoric of the opposition,” he asserted confidently.

Anwar Khan, during the event, highlighted that the exhibition serves as a testament to Modi’s life and achievements, portraying a narrative of sacrifice and vision. “Unlike the INDI alliance, which represents corruption and betrayal, this exhibition reflects hope and progress,” Khan asserted. His statement reinforces BJP’s narrative that they offer a clear path toward development.

Mudassir Farooq Jan echoed these sentiments, asserting that Modi’s leadership has reshaped India and Jammu & Kashmir’s identity on the global stage. He stated, “We will continually communicate these achievements to the masses as part of our broader mission to empower citizens.”

As political campaigns intensify in the region, reactions to Sharma’s statements will be pivotal. J&K’s electorate remains crucial in national politics, often reflecting larger trends across India. Sharma’s critiques may resonate especially well among voters seeking accountability and change, putting further pressure on the INDI alliance to respond effectively.

The BJP’s strategy hinges on emphasizing tangible development against the backdrop of the opposition’s historical governance records. As Sharma’s remarks gain traction, it remains to be seen how the INDI alliance, composed of Congress, NC, and PDP, will address these allegations and present its own narrative.
