Satish Sharma Urges Sub-District Hospital Status for Rajiv Gandhi Hospital

Jammu: Satish Sharma, the General Secretary of Pradesh Congress and the In-charge of Bahu Assembly Constituency, met with Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Tuesday at the Secretariat in Kashmir. The meeting focused on critical public issues including the demand for Sub-District Hospital status for Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Gangyal, and the urgent need for infrastructure improvements in the area.

Sharma emphasized that the demand for Sub-District Hospital status for Rajiv Gandhi Hospital holds significant importance for the people of Gangyal and its surrounding regions. He pointed out that with the population rapidly increasing, many residents rely on this facility for their healthcare needs. As a result, such recognition would facilitate access to specialist doctors, experienced medical staff, modern medical technology, and essential healthcare services.

“At present, residents often have to travel long distances to access necessary medical services,” Sharma stated. He added, “If Rajiv Gandhi Hospital were to receive Sub-District Hospital status, locals would be able to receive quality healthcare within their community.”

Road conditions in Gangyal also topped the agenda. Sharma requested that the government conduct a comprehensive survey of local roads and expedite the blacktopping process. “Poor road conditions impede daily life and pose challenges for students, residents, and drivers,” he asserted.

Another vital issue Sharma highlighted was the need for reconstruction of the damaged bridge over the canal at Bawaliana. He explained that this bridge presents a major hurdle for commuters, particularly worsening during the rainy season, thus creating a pressing need for its prompt repair.

In addition, Sharma addressed the lack of proper road connectivity in Dadap Panchayat. “Residents here face significant hardships due to inadequate road infrastructure. Constructing this road will enhance connectivity and spur local development,” he explained during the meeting.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, acknowledging Sharma’s concerns, assured him that the demands will be prioritized. He stated, “We will issue the necessary directions to relevant authorities to ensure these issues are resolved as soon as possible.”

This meeting not only highlights the pressing demands of local constituents but also reflects the ongoing efforts of local leaders like Satish Sharma to bridge the gap in essential services. With commitments from the Deputy Chief Minister, residents of Gangyal and surrounding areas may soon see noticeable improvements to their healthcare and infrastructure.
