The District Administration in Anantnag has launched a decisive crackdown on illegal structures linked to drug trafficking. On Saturday, officials demolished 15 illegal shops during a major enforcement drive in Waghama, Bijbehara.
This action forms part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt (Drug-Free) Jammu and Kashmir Campaign. Authorities remain committed to dismantling narcotics networks and eliminating illegal assets associated with drug-related activities.
In a coordinated operation, revenue authorities, supported by the police, took down the illegal structures, which were built on State and Kahcharai lands. These properties were located on Khasra Nos. 2494 (min) and 2495 (min) and were linked to individuals under investigation for violations of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The operation not only targeted illegal constructions but also helped to reclaim encroached State and Kahcharai land. This significant step aims to restore public property and ensure lawful land usage in the area.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking, the District Administration has vowed to continue strict action against drug peddlers, narcotics networks, and unlawful encroachments throughout the campaign. Officials emphasize that dismantling illegal structures associated with drug activities is vital to disrupting the narcotics supply chain.
The operation underscores the administration’s resolve to safeguard community health and public order from drug-related threats. In light of this initiative, officials have issued strong warnings to individuals involved in drug activities or illegal land occupation. Such offenders can expect severe legal consequences in the following days.
The Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign primarily aims to combat drug addiction and trafficking across Jammu and Kashmir, fostering a safer environment for citizens. The decisive actions taken in Anantnag serve as a warning to others engaged in similar activities, reinforcing the message that there will be no shelter for drug-related crimes.
This campaign highlights the government’s commitment to create a drug-free society. As authorities remain vigilant, they urge the public to collaborate with law enforcement, reporting any suspicious activities related to drug peddling or illegal encroachments.
Through sustained efforts, officials hope to build a robust framework against drug trafficking in the region, ultimately leading to healthier and safer communities.
