On Sunday evening, Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, executed a cordon-and-search operation near the International Border in Jammu. This operation, part of heightened security measures before Independence Day, aimed to ensure peace and stability in the region.
The joint effort targeted areas around Aik Nallah, Kool Kalan, and extended into regions under the jurisdiction of Arnia Police Station. Police initiated the operation at approximately 6 PM, spanning nearly two hours.
During the search, officers meticulously inspected around 15 houses and local shacks, also known as ‘kullas’. A police spokesman emphasized that this activity is a routine aspect of security and surveillance operations to maintain area dominance in light of upcoming celebrations.
Officials reported a smooth progression of the operation without any disturbances. The overall situation remained calm, and no incidents requiring emergency response occurred during this focused security measure.
As Independence Day approaches, local authorities have significantly amplified patrols and surveillance efforts to prevent any potential threats or disturbances. The emphasis on proactive measures ensures that the region retains its normalcy during the national festivities.
