Amid escalating tensions and the volatile security situation in Iran, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President, Tariq Hameed Karra, has strongly appealed to the Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to take immediate steps to ensure the safety and evacuation of students from Jammu and Kashmir currently studying in the country.
In a statement issued today, Karra urged External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to prioritize the well-being of Indian citizens, especially students from the Union Territory, and initiate urgent diplomatic and logistical measures to facilitate their safe return.
“I am fully aware of the anxiety and distress among the parents and families of students stranded in Iran. The situation is deeply concerning, and I hope the MEA will act swiftly to bring our children home safely,” Karra said.
The JKPCC President further stressed the importance of comprehensive support, including communication assistance, travel arrangements, and counseling, to those affected.
As tensions continue to rise in the region, the call for immediate government action has grown louder, with families appealing for reassurance and quick intervention from the Centre.
