In a significant move to enhance last-mile service delivery, the District Administration Kupwara established three new Common Service Centres (CSCs) in the Block Keran today. These centres will serve residents in the remote border villages, ensuring better access to essential government services and welfare programs.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara inaugurated the three CSCs virtually, engaging with the Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) responsible for these initiatives. The centres operate in the Gram Panchayats of Mundiyan-A, Mundiyan, and Pathroo, marking a monumental step towards digital inclusivity in the region.
This initiative follows a comprehensive ground-level assessment conducted by a dedicated team aimed at addressing existing service gaps in these distant villages. The establishment of the CSCs received support from CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, which specializes in implementing e-governance solutions.
Residents will benefit from a range of e-governance services through these new centres. The services offered include essential government and public utility services, social welfare schemes, financial inclusion services, healthcare, and agricultural support. Additionally, these centres will help bridge the digital literacy gap, promoting technological awareness and engagement among local communities.
This initiative aligns with the broader vision of holistic development for border villages, aiming to reduce the long travel times previously required for accessing basic services. By bringing governance closer to the people, CSCs are set to enhance resident engagement with government schemes.
Local residents expressed their appreciation for the administration’s efforts to extend digital services into border regions. Officials reiterated their commitment to the principle of “Governance at the Doorstep,” emphasizing that they will continue to strengthen service delivery in the district’s remote areas.
Overall, these new Common Service Centres exemplify a pivotal shift towards modernizing service access in border areas and enhancing the quality of life for residents in Keran.
